Paying it Forward: The Kidney Kindness Fund
The Kidney Kindness Fund was created to support people living with chronic kidney disease who need extra resources and guidance. Many people with CKD do not have access to clear information or the tools they need to manage their health. This fund provides scholarships, educational materials, and practical resources to help people feel seen, supported, and empowered in their health journey.
Starting in 2026, ten percent of net revenue from every service and product will be dedicated to the Kidney Kindness Fund. Every contribution helps people access education and resources that can make a real difference in their health.
The CKD Dietitian operates as a social enterprise, meaning our practice is designed to give back. A portion of every service and product goes to the Kidney Kindness Fund to provide education and support to people living with chronic kidney disease.
Why I Started the Kidney Kindness Fund
One of the biggest reasons I can do this work today is because I received a life-changing scholarship. The Gates Millennium Scholars Program helped me go to college, study abroad in Australia, and later earn my master’s degree in nutrition. Someone who didn’t even know me believed in my potential. That belief gave me opportunities I could never have imagined.
I also have a personal connection to kidney disease. My father-in-law had three kidney transplants and went through dialysis. I never got to meet him, but his story inspires me every day. It reminds me why this work matters and why I want to help others with kidney disease.
Many people with chronic kidney disease do not get the education and support they need to care for their health. Without the right information, it can be hard to know what to do. The Kidney Kindness Fund was created to help by giving scholarships, resources, and support to those who need it most.
Paying it forward is not just something I believe in. It is personal.
